Department Manager (m/f/d) Business Development/M&A
A decisive factor in the company's growth strategy is the development of (new) businesses which complete the product offerings enabling the company to become a total solution provider. To realize the ambitious long-term goals, our client is looking for a highly motivated, experienced and strategic Business Development Manager/M&A (f/m/x). In this position you will hold an incubator function bringing business fields from an embryonal stage to maturity level and support the established business fields by managing M&As.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluating potential acquisition targets in the field of residential and commercial services
  • Development of relationships with potential partners and support negotiation of commercial terms
  • Review of acquisition opportunities and responsibility for ongoing M&As and corporate development processes (e.g. company valuation, due diligence)
  • Managing several complex projects, involving ad-hoc multi-disciplinary teams including internal and external advisers and reporting to senior steering groups
  • Support of partners and company management by managing deals through to completion using financial acumen, commercial insight, and strong project management skills
  • Provision of support as required on non-acquisition related investment assessment processes 
  • Mergers & Acquisitions Integration: responsible to protect and grow the value of an acquisition / new business venture (e.g. analyzing what is the right level of integration to achieve this and what does an effectively run integration program look like)
  • Post-acquisition performance improvement (e.g. consult on how to amplify the value of the business, economies of scale, synergies etc.)
  • Hand over the mature business into the regular organization structure

Skills & qualifications: 
  • University degree (master/diploma) in Business, Economics, Engineering or a related field
  • Several years of related work experience along with a proven track record of project oversight for strategic business development, preferably in a similar industry or market
  • Prior experience in leading M&A processes is a plus
  • A reasonable level of successful commercial experience
  • Well-developed skills in strategic and financial analysis and evaluation, portfolio management, project management and business/process improvement
  • Experience in operational due diligence, post-merger integration and strategic planning/implementation
  • Experienced in collaborating with internal and external partners, stakeholder and decision-makers
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Resilient, result-focused, determined, decisive
  • Great communication & fluent English skills
